Ultralight Gaiters

Over the past decade, we have been using trail running shoes to complete various hiking expeditions, even traversing snowy mountains. Low-cut trail running shoes are prone to letting in sand, stones, and snow, making gaiters almost essential. The 3FULGEAR gaiters do not require any shoe modifications and are compatible with most trail running shoes. They are waterproof, making them highly suitable for winter use. If your shoes are already waterproof, these gaiters can enhance their water resistance during rainy conditions. However, due to their waterproof nature, they are less suitable for dry and hot environments.

Sizing: Due to adjustable design, gaiters are suitable for shoe sizes corresponding to foot lengths between 23 and 28cm, which typically range from US 6 to 10.5.

They are easy to use—you can put them on without taking off your shoes. Since they only cover the legs, they offer excellent breathability, as the crotch area, which requires the most ventilation, remains open. Thanks to their natural structural advantage, warm and humid air can evaporate through the upper opening.

However, it’s important to note that minimalist rain pants are designed to be used with a long raincoat, making them the perfect companion to our ultralight Rain Poncho or Rain Kilt.

The waterproof performance is provided by silicone and PU coatings, so this product does not use fluorides like other rainproof garments. This product is free of PFOA.

When using the Tarp Poncho as a tarp, additional cords are required. This product does not include these accessories, but you can easily find ropes at any outdoor shop, including on our website. This usage method requires some tarp-pitching experience.

When using it as a tent footprint, you must ensure the footprint is fully tucked under the tent or remains within the flysheet’s rain coverage. Otherwise, water may pool and create a “bathtub” effect.

Until this rain kilt came along, we were looking for a lightweight solution to keep the rain off your down body without taking off your boots. Now, we’ve found the answer. Your legs are completely protected from the rain by 3FULGEAR Rain Kilt and gaiters. In addition, due to its natural structural features, it is bound to have great ventilation. You can put it on in just 5 seconds without having to take off your shoes.  It may be the only skirt you will ever wear in your life!

In late 2023, we used a stronger fabric for the rain skirts, and the UHMWPE mesh structure was embedded into the fabric to make it less prone to damage.
